At 9:18 a.m. Monday, officers, EMS personnel and firefighters responded to a state-reportable, injury accident at Maxwell and Kansas. The drivers were Jackie Pegram and Casey Stucky, both of McPherson. One patient was transported to Memorial Hospital. Five occupants declined medical service.

Sheriff’s deputies, McPherson EMS personnel, McPherson and Galva firefighters and a state trooper responded to a crash on US-56, 1.6 miles east of I-135, at 9:20 a.m. Monday. The drivers were Gale L. Lowry, 57, Marion, and Lyle L. Koerber, 50, Aurora.
According to a report filed by the Kansas Highway Patrol, Lowry was driving a 2001 Ford pickup westbound when he lost control and slid into path of Koerber’s vehicle, a semi. Lowry’s vehicle came to rest upright on the north shoulder. The semi, carrying a partial load of tires, came to rest in the south ditch and burned. The semi was a total loss.
Lowry was transported to Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Koerber was not injured.
