Sweat’s 22 not enough for KSU

MANHATTAN -- Baylor used a strong second half Wednesday to put away Kansas State 65-47, as the Wildcats attempted to beat a second ranked opponent in as many games.
With the loss, the Wildcats dropped to 11-10 on the season, 3-4 in Big 12 play. The Lady Bears are 16-5 on the year and 3-4 in conference play.
After a tough start to the first half, the Wildcats went on a 9-0 run capped off by a Kari Kincaid 3-pointer to tie the game at 24-24. The Wildcats went into the break with a two-point deficit 30-28.
After the break, the Wildcats stormed back and a basket from Ashley Sweat tied the game up at 39-39 at the 14:25 mark. But from there it was all Baylor.
The Wildcats were led by Sweat with 22 points. It was her 11th straight game with double-digit scoring.
Baylor was led by Brittany Griner, who recorded a Bramlage Coliseum record eight blocks and set the single-season Big 12 blocks record with 122. Griner finished the night with 26 total points capped off by a one-handed dunk with 4:53 remaining in the second half.
