WAXAHACHIE, Texas -- Sean High saved his greatest performance for his final game.
The Central Christian College senior guard scored a school-record 54 points Thursday, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Tigers from losing 110-101 to Mid-America Christian University in the NCCAA Regional Tournament.
High made 16 of 27 shots, 10 of 18 from 3-point, and 12 of 17 free throws. He broke his own school record of 51.
The loss ended the Tigers’ season at 21-10 in Tony Romero’s first year as head coach.
“These guys took me for quite a ride,” Romero said. “We had a lot of good times and some bad times. We accomplished a lot.”
Don Gavin also had a huge game for the Tigers with 25 points and 15 rebounds.
Brandon Williams led Mid-America with 20.
Central scoring (101) -- High 54, Gavin 25, Francois 9, Guillory 2, Luckey 2, Lockwood 3, Mitchell 6.
