Bethany College shot a sizzling 276 Tuesday at Turkey Creek to win the two-day Swede Spring Invitational.
The Swedes finished with a two-day total of 578, two shots better than Southwestern. The first round was played Monday at Salina.
Bethany was led by Thomas Fernandes, who shot a 142 to tie for medalist with Jared Paul and Kenneth Wright, both of Southwestern. Paul won the playoff.
Also for the Swedes, Jack Hiscock shot 144 to take fourth. Mark Bengtson (145, tied for fifth), Chris McManus (146, 7th), Brock Bullard (148, 10th), Leslie Bonvillain (152, tied for 16th) and Ian Ford (152, tied for 16th) were other Swedes in the Top 20.
Bethany’s No. 2 tam shot a 609 for fourth. Central Christian was 12th with 632 and Central Christian’s No. 2 team shot 705 for 16th.
Adam Acton had the top CCC finish as he was tied for 16th with a 152. Other scores for CCC were Levi Hinson (156), Travis Bobychuk (159), Elliott Wingert (165) and Keith Slattery (181).
For the second CCC team, scores were Matthew Sears (168), Darren Hofmann (175), Randy Koski (181) and Henry Rhodes (181).
