McPherson County Crimestoppers year-end figures

In 2009 McPherson County Crimestoppers Inc. received 23 calls which assisted in clearing various crimes such as thefts, fugitives, hit-and-run accidents and the majority of the calls dealt with drugs such as methamphetamine.
Since the Crimestoppers organization started in 1986 it has:
•Accounted for over $333,650 in property recovered, drugs seized or in expected court ordered restitution
•Caused 368 people to face criminal charges
Received 1,153 calls concerning the following crimes throughout McPherson County:
- Theft or burglary: 289
- Drug activity and mathamphetamine labs: 499
- Criminal damage to property: 63
- Fugitives, active warrants: 85
- Liquor: 21
- Arson: 14
- Auto thefts: 12
- Homicide: 2
•Callers have also helped to clear 337 cases in McPherson County and many others for agencies outside McPherson County

The Crimestoppers agency pays rewards up to $1,000 to citizens that call in with information the leads to an arrest. The program is totally dependent on financial contributions. Donations can be sent to P.O. Box 25, McPherson.
