It will be “old home week” Saturday when McPherson High opens its cross country season at Wichita State.
Not only will the current Bullpup members be opening their season, but MHS performers from the past will be taking part as well.
The meet has both a high school and college division.
“This will be a weekend to remember,” said MHS coach Chad Brake, who will see his success stories on display.
In addition to his high school team, Brake will be watching his former runners, including Adam Porter and his brother Lane, who will be competing for Kansas State. Kelsi Beam, Morgan Peterson and Preston Mossman are members of the McPherson College team, while Max Archer is going to compete as an unattached entry.
There actually will be four members of the Porter family competing, as Caleb and Wyatt are members of the Bullpup team.
All in all, it will be a special day.
“The WSU meet will definitely be a time to celebrate success,” Brake said. “The opportunity to watch these runners shine at the next level will be exciting.”
