Gregory R. “Greg” Brown, 62, died Monday, Oct. 27, in rural Ellsworth.
He was born Jan. 7, 1946, in Dallas, Texas, the son of Paul and Virginia Smiley Brown. Greg was a cowboy and lived the past year near Kanopolis, formerly of the Peabody, Thayer and Lindsborg areas.
On Jan. 7, 1966, he married Mary Hause in Dallas. She survives. Other survivors include: son, Samuel Paul Brown, and wife, Helga, of Lima, Peru; daughter, Elizabeth Jane Brown, Oklahoma City, Okla.; granddaughter “Papa’s Girl” Ariella Spicher, Oklahoma City, Okla.; brothers Dr. Clay Brown, Mooresville, N.C., Roger Brown, San Francisco, Calif., and Matthew Brown, Lewisville, Texas; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Greg loved his family, loved his friends and loved his horses.
Visitation is Sunday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Parsons Funeral Home in Ellsworth.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, at Freemount Lutheran Church, rural Lindsborg, with Dr. Clay Brown officiating. The family refers casual dress. Cremation will follow.
Memorial may be made to the Greg Brown Education Fund in care of Farmers State Bank, Marquette.
