Ed Henry, 83, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at him home in McPherson.
He served in the U.S. Navy as a First Class Seaman with the Lyon Eight in WWII. He received the American Area Victory Medal and Asiatic Pacific.
He was a music teacher for St. Francis, Jewell, Sedgwick and the McPherson, USD 418, junior high school. He retired after 37 years of teaching.
Survivors include: his wife, Maxine (Nelson) Henry of McPherson; daughter Kristin Ann Sandwell of Wichita; son Richard Allen Henry of McPherson; brother Herbert Gene Henry of Lincoln, Neb.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in McPherson, with Pastor Thomas J. Hallstrom officiating.
Burial will take place at Elmwood Cemetery in Lindsborg.
Friends are invited to call from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28, with the family present from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at Glidden-Ediger Chapel in McPherson.
