Bethany College athletes received numerous awards this week from the KCAC.
Bethany’s Jono Painter was named KCAC Golfer of the Week. Painter, a senior from Sydney, Australia, captured the Oklahoma Panhandle State Invitational after rounds of 68-68-71. He set Bethany records for the lowest 36-hole and 54-hole totals. The Swedes also were the team winner.
Bethany had two softball players honored. Sara Logan, senior from Clay Center, was Position Player of the Week after going 14 of 25 for a .560 average. The Swedes were 6-1 on the week.
The Swedes also had the Pitcher of the Week in Savannah Dejmal, who was 3-0 with a 1.11 ERA. The senior from Munden had only one walk and nine strikeouts in 19 innings of work.
Bethany’s Jakub Szymanski, a sophomore from Poland, was KCAC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week. He went 2-0 in singles and was 2-0 in doubles as well.
