Wilbur V. Ediger, 83, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2009, while in the company of family members  at Memorial Hospital in McPherson, Kansas.
He was born in Inman, Kansas on Nov. 27, 1925, the son of the late Abe A. and Sarah F. (Neufeld) Ediger.
Wilbur honorably served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He worked as a concrete foreman for Pyle Construction in McPherson, Kansas.
Wilbur attended school at Meade, Kansas.
He was the husband of Pearl L. (Weyand) Ediger. They were married on March 6, 1949 at Canton, Kansas.
Surviving members of his family include, wife, Pearl L. Ediger of McPherson, Kansas; son, Doug Ediger of McPherson, Kansas; daughters, Debbie Johnson and husband, Vaughan, of McPherson, Kansas and Angie Sevilla and husband, Scott, of Stockton, California; five grandchildren, Sara Richards, Christopher Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Rachel Sevilla, and Katelyn Sevilla; two great-grandchildren, Brady and Elliott Richards; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Ted, Sam, Leonard, and Edwin Ediger; two sisters, Lenora Ediger and Evelyn Minear; and a son, Brent Ediger.
The memorial service will be at Glidden-Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas, at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2009, with Pastor Deborah Somerville officiating.
Cremation has taken place.
Private family graveside inurment services will be at McPherson Cemetery, McPherson, Kansas, and will precede the memorial service.
