McPherson’s Junior American Legion is home tonight against Hutchinson after losing a pair of games here Sunday to Halstead.
The Juniors take a 7-15 record into the game, expected to be played at Grant Complex at 6 p.m. The fence at Light Capital Diamond has not been repaired.
In the opener against Halstead, McPherson dropped a 15-3 decision. A 12-run fourth by Halstead was the difference, as it was only a 3-2 game to that point.
Post 24 managed only four hits, all by different batters.
McPherson led the second game 4-0 early, but then it was all Halstead as again the fourth inning was huge, as the visitors scored nine times. All nine runs came after two were out, according to coach Craig Marshall.
“We had a bad fourth inning in each game that killed us,” Marshall said.
Seth Sterling was 4 for 5 with three RBI to lead Post 24. Taylor Myers and Aaron Marshall both had three hits, while Jeremy Moore had two hits and two RBI.
