MOORE, Okla. -- Central Christian College’s softball team lost a pair of close decisions Tuesday to Hillsdale College.
In the opener, the Lady Tigers took a 3-1 lead into the fifth when Hillsdale scored four runs, leading to a 5-3 victory.
CCC outhit Hillsdale 9-5 and also played a clean game in the field with no errors. A three-run double by Terry West was the game-winning hit.
Kirstyn Secrest and Tiffany Burget had two hits apiece for CCC, and Burget also drove in two runs. Jenessa Ternes took the loss.
In the second game, the Lady Tigers charged with four runs in the seventh, but the rally came up one run short, 7-6.
CCC again won the hitting battle, 10-8, but this time made eight errors in the field.
Samantha Wilson had four hits, two of them doubles, to lead the Lady Tigers and she also drove in three runs. Destinee Stephenson added two hits.
CCC, now 4-13, is scheduled to play today at Sterling.
