Mayor Tom Brown gave an update on the city’s sales tax intake at the beginning of Monday’s city commission meeting, saying that revenue is down compared to last year.
Through the first quarter, going off a 12 month total from last year, sales tax revenue is down $62,500, while the half-cent sales tax used to pay for the library is down by a little over $63,000.
Brown said this might cause repayment of the library to go into the first quarter of 2011.
“We’re down from last year,” Brown said. “But, last year was a good year.”
