Central Christian College’s baseball team evened its spring break road trip record at 2-2 Monday with a sweep of Ozark Christian.
CCC won the opener 10-8 in a game that went nine innings. Sam Carr’s homer was the deciding blow, and Micah Womacks drove in Wade Wedow with some insurance.
Carr went 4 for 5. Chris Wood was the winner in relief.
CCC then snared a 6-3 verdict to complete the sweep. Womacks pitched a terrific game, fanning 12. Wood’s steal of home was an offensive highlight.
CCC is now 10-18 and plays a doubleheader Wednesday at Ecclesia College of Springdale, Ark.
College of the Ozarks 10, Central Christian 7 -- Womacks hit a three-run homer in the seventh to at least cause the Bobcats to sweat in the final inning. Womacks and Troy Richter were both 3 for 3, while Carr had a homer among his three hits in four at-bats.
College of the Ozarks 12, Central Christian 2 -- Four runs in the first led the Bobcats on their way to a sweep of the four-game series. Carr continued his hot hitting with two more homers, plus a double. Richter also continued to swing a hot bat with three more hits, giving him six in the twinbill.
Carr hit .550 for the four-game series, including four homers and two doubles, and Womacks hit .500.
