SEDGWICK -- Inman’s softball team opened its season Monday with a split against Sedgwick.

The Teutons used a 10-run sixth inning to pull away to a 23-13 win in the second game. Taylor England pitched the first four innings, with Mishaun Pfannenstiel working the final three.

Ashlyn Wiens pounded out four hits and scored three runs, while Courtney Reimer had a triple, double and single and scored three runs. Stephanie Nelson and Brooke Beckerman added three hits apiece and England had two.

In the opener, the Cardinals rallied from a 4-1 deficit for a 5-4 win, scoring a run in the bottom of the seventh on an error to break the tie.

Beckerman had two hits for the Teutons, while Pfannenstiel, who pitched, had a double.

The Teutons play Thursday at Moundridge.
