Moundridge came away with a split in its softball season opener Tuesday.

Chase County scored five runs in the top of the seventh to break a 2-2 tie and went on for a 7-2 first-game victory.

Abby Flickner had two of MHS’ five hits, which were all singles. Holli Wolf took the loss.

MHS bounced back with a 5-2 victory in the nightcap. Jessie Vogts twirled a four-hitter to pick up the win. Shyloe Schafer went 3 for 3 with an RBI, while Wolf had two hits, including a double. Vogts and Paige Wedel also had doubles.
