Chase County, expected to be one of the top baseball teams in the state, took both ends of a doubleheader from Moundridge Tuesday in the Wildcats’ season opener.

MHS was held hitless in the first game, as Chase County won a 12-0 verdict in five innings. The Bulldogs’ Shawn Talkington spinned the gem, and 14 of the 15 outs were via the strikeout. Chase County had a pair of five-run innings.

Austin Neufeld took the loss.

Chase County scored six runs in the first to spark a 15-4 victory in the nightcap. The Bulldogs also unfurled a pair of four-run innings.

Ethan Blouin had two of MHS’ four hits. Lane Barton took the loss.
