Inman’s track and field teams took second place Tuesday in the Haven Quint.
The Class 2A Inman boys scored 110 points to barely trail 4A Haven, which scored 114.
It was a big day for the Teutons’ Luke Ropp, who won the 100, 200 and high jump. Also mining for gold were Jeff Leddy in the shot put, Ryan Foster in the 400 and Jason Friesen in the 300 hurdles.
Canton-Galva scored 14 points to take fifth. Marc Jowers’ third-place finish in the 110 hurdles was the Eagles’ top performance.
The Inman girls scored 71 1/2 points to finish behind Haven’s 125 1/2.
It was a big day for the Teutons’ Michelle Ritcha and Rylee Abernathy. Ritcha won the triple jump and long jump, while Abernathy won the high jump and shot put. Elicia Saiz captured the discus for the other gold-medal performance.
Canton-Galva’s girls scored 28 points for fourth. Cayla Sommers had a nice day for the Eagles, as she was second in the 100, 200 and high jump.
