McPherson College has announced the recent signing of Cord Cunningham of Ottawa and West Franklin High School to a men’s basketball letter of intent for the 2010-2011 school year.
“Cord expressed a great interest to attend McPherson College because of our outstanding art program,” McPherson head coach Tim Swartzendruber said. “We are excited he will be part of our men’s basketball program. I feel Cord’s best years are ahead of him. He is a great all-around athlete, an excellent student and has the type of character we want in our program.”
The 6-3 Cunningham lettered three seasons at West Franklin High School under the direction of coach James Spencer.
Following the 2010 season, Cunningham was selected first-team All-League and All-Area after averaging 13.7 points, nine rebounds and two assists per game.
Cord is the son of Alan and Phyllis Cunningham of Ottawa. He plans to major in graphic design at McPherson College.
