Dallas Baptist’s women and Southwestern Christian College’s men emerged as champions of the National Christian College Athletic Association Regional Soccer Tournament Saturday at Central Christian College.
Dallas Baptist ended Colorado Christian’s Cinderella story with a 4-0 victory. Colorado Christian had entered the tournament as the No. 7 and last seed in the field, but scored two upset victories to make the finals.
By winning three straight games, Dallas Baptist got back to the .500 mark for the year at 10-10-3.
In the men’s game, top-seed Southwestern Christian (19-1) held off Oklahoma Wesleyan 2-1 in a game that got very physical at the end, as the Eagles were hit with four red cards.
Dallas Baptist and Southwestern Christian advance on to the national tournament in Florida.
