Isaac Samuel “Sam” Bailey, 85, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, surrounded by his loving family at his daughter’s Newton residence.
He served his country in the Navy during WWII in both Europe and Asia. Sam was retired from the city of Newton after 44 years. He was assistant fire chief for 17 years and retired as fire chief after two years of service to the community. 
Survivors include: his daughters Linda and her husband Rex Hahn of Stillwater, Texas; Nancy and her husband David Mitzel of Newton; Son Glen and his wife Christy Bailey of Wichita; Brother Nathan Bailey Ramona; Sisters Mae Thomas Lakewood, Colo.; Alice Zentz of Grand Junction, Colo.; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 2010, at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Reimer of Grace Community Church in Newton.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Petersen Funeral Home with the family greeting friends from 2 to 4 p.m.
