Margaret Ruth Hoover, 93, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2010. She was born July 1, 1917, in Lamar, Colo., the daughter of Anthony and Elizabeth Clark Gardner. She married Jack Eldon Hoover in 1935 in Leadville, Colo., and they co-owned Ohio Street Iron & Metal in Salina. She was a D.A.V. store manager and a life member of A.B.W.A.
Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Jack; three sons, Cecil, Donald and Ronald Hoover; and a son in law, Alan Ecton.
She is survived by two sons; Gerald Hoover, Salina, and Glenn Hoover and wife, Joyce, McPherson; six daughters; Judy Heimer and husband, Robert, Olathe, Mary Ecton, Salina, Norma Lentz and husband, Dennis, Ft. Myers, Fla., Shirley Gillespie, Warren, Ohio, Sharon Fleming, and husband, William, Springfield, Mo., Jean Isaacson and husband, Tom, Salina; and daughters-in-law, Mary Hoover, and Cindy Hoover, Salina.
Margaret has 30 grandchildren, 61 great-grand 14 great-great-grand children.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at the Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Burial will be in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina. Friends may call at the Ryan Mortuary on Tuesday from noon until 8 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. that evening.
