Smoky Valley continued its sterling early season wrestling success Saturday by winning the five-team Ellsworth Round-Robin, its second tournament championship of the season.
“We competed hard and made some improvements from Thursday,” Smoky Valley coach Ben Elliott said. “We did a better job of moving off the bottom but still need to improve our conditioning. Overall I was happy with the effort.”
The Vikings scored 166 1/2 points to easily outdistance the rest of the field, which included Ellsworth (118), Lincoln (97), Stafford (75) and Chapman (49 1/2).
Taking first for the Vikings were Alex Wolf at 119, Kyle Ryan at 135, Ethan Loder at 140, Spencer Bird at 145, Lars Peterson at 152, Weston Loder at 171 and Alex Peterson at heavyweight.
Taking second were Mason Kerns at 112, Colter Krehbiel at 125, Trevor Whittaker at 160 and Elias Peterson at 171.  
Jake Rogers was third at 140, while Kale Kennedy was fourth at 130.
