Smoky Valley had the lead in both of its basketball games with Buhler Tuesday night, but the Crusaders came back to win both.
The Buhler boys, sparked by a 4-point play by sharpshooter Brandon Givens, overcame the Vikings for a 57-52 victory.
Smoky Valley led 48-45 in the fourth quarter when Givens hit a 3-pointer and was fouled on the play. He made the free throw to complete the four-pointer and the Crusaders went on from there.
Smoky Valley, which had trailed by 13 points during the first half before charging back to lead in the fourth quarter, was led by Seth Nelson with 16 points, while Wayd Thomas scored 11 and Nick Deterding added 10.
The Vikes are 3-2.
The Viking girls had their best offensive game of the year, but lost a 68-57 verdict after being up 10-1 at the start.
Lori Dauer had a fabulous game with 31 points to lead the Vikings, while Rachel Norberg chipped in with 13. Smoky Valley is now 1-4.
