McPherson High’s Christian Ulsaker has been chosen to play in the 38th annual Kansas Shrine Bowl, scheduled for July 30, 2011, at Fort Hays State.
Ulsaker becomes the fourth Bullpup in as many years to be selected, following Tanner Hawkinson (2008), Zach Peterson (2009) and Joel Piper (2010). He’ll be a member of the West team, coached by Wichita Heights’ Rick Wheeler.
“It’s a tremendous honor for Christian and a tremedous honor for the team,” MHS coach Tom Young said. “He had a great year and was a very dominating player.”
Ulsaker had 67 catches for 1,154 yards and 12 touchdowns.
He was named All-State All-Class by The Wichita Eagle and Topeka Capital-Journal, which automatically qualifies him for the MHS Wall of Fame.
He’s also earned All-State honors in basketball and has signed to play next year for Washburn University.
