Firefighters, a police officer, EMS personnel and Emergency Management personnel responded to the 500 block of N. 81 Bypass at 4:44 p.m. Wednesday for an anhydrous ammonia leak. The leak was repaired.

McPherson Police
An officer filed an information report at 11:59 a.m. Wednesday reference the theft of a kerosene heater that occurred in the 700 block of E. Kansas between 3:30 p.m. Dec. 23 and 6 a.m. Wednesday. Loss is reported at $400.

At 1:03 p.m. Wednesday, an officer filed a report regarding a theft of a $50 gift card that occurred in the 500 block of E. Northview. Theft charges are pending against a 46-year-old female.

Officers responded to a state-reportable, non-injury accident at Hickory and Marlin at 2:01 p.m. Wednesday. The drivers were Dennis Biggerstaff, McPherson, and Robin C. Combs, Salina. Biggerstaff was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

At 11:24 a.m. Wednesday, deputies, McPherson EMS personnel, McPherson firefighters and Galva firefighters responded to a state-reportable, injury, rollover accident on US-56, .5 mile east of 18th Avenue. The driver was Maggie Chaney, McPherson. A patient was transported to Memorial Hospital, McPherson, for treatment of possible injuries.

A deputy filed a report at 1:41 p.m. Wednesday reference burglary and theft that occurred in the 1600 block of 13th Avenue between Dec. 22 and Dec. 29. A laptop computer, a television, a Blue Ray disc, a sweatsuit and numerous power tools were taken. Loss is reported at $3,325.

At 1:41 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy filed a report regarding the theft of six round hay bales, valued at $400, that occurred on 13th Avenue, .25 mile south of Moccasin Road, between Dec. 22 and Dec. 29.

Deputies filed a report at 4:51 p.m. Wednesday reference a theft of brass and copper, valued at $10,000, that occurred in the 300 block of Cherokee Road between Nov. 30 and Dec. 29. Two male subjects, one from Hutchinson and one from Colorado, were arrested in Hutchinson for felony theft. They were booked into the McPherson County Jail and released on $2,500 bond each.
