McPherson’s most famous dog, Wink, will soon be featured on ABC’s KAKE-TV Ch.-10’s popular program, Hatteberg's People.
KAKE anchor Larry Hatteberg came to McPherson Wednesday to interview Wink, and his companion Annette Karr. The trio spent time at Karr’s business and Roosevelt Elementary School, before going to The Bookshelf for an interview.
“It’s important for each story to have a message,” Hatteberg said, when asked about why he chose Wink to be profiled. “It’s a warm, fuzzy story that makes people feel good.”
Wink got his name because he has one eye. Karr recently authored a book entitled “ Wink The One-Eyed Wonder,” about her unique dog. The book is available at The Bookshelf.
Karr has shared her book and its message with children and adults throughout the area. The message of the book, Karr said, is to let everyone know that they are unique and one-of-a-kind, just like Wink, and that difference make people — and dogs — great.
Karr said she intends to continue sharing Wink’s story and hopes to one day have Wink profiled on national television.
The segment will air 10 p.m. Sunday, and replay during Monday’s midday newscast.
