Lela Mae Bright, 75, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at William Newton Hospital.
She worked as a police meter maid in McPherson and later worked for Binney & Smith Crayola Co. in Winfield for 20 years until they closed. She then went to work for Calmar, working on the machines until her retirement in 2008.
Survivors include: her daughter, Melinda Olive and husband, Jay, of Garland, Texas; mother Meda May Wolfe of Winfield; brothers David Wolfe; Jesse Wolfe and wife, Peggy, and Bill Wolfe, all of Grenola; sisters Bertha Reeves of Grenola and Freda Daehnke and husband, Sigurd, of Winfield; three grandchildren; two great-granddaughters ;and several nices and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 21, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The family will greet visitors during that time.
A memorial has been established in Lela’s name for the Grenola Alumni Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
