A former McPherson elementary school custodian recently had charges filed against him for aggravated indecent liberties with a child.
Vincent R. Dale, a former custodian at McPherson Middle School and Eisenhower Elementary School, was arrested on Feb. 17 on charges that he had inappropriate relations with a female fourth grade student between Aug. 8, 2004 and May 5, 2005.
According to McPherson County Attorney David Page, Dale became infatuated with the student.
“He hugged her a lot and kissed her on the cheek,” Page said. “At one point he kissed her on the mouth.”
Page said the student came forward last September, which began his office’s investigation. That investigation has not uncovered any other charges.
Dale resigned from his position with USD 418 in October of 2010.  District Superintendent Dr. Randy Watson said no allegations regarding Dale were ever brought to his attention.
Dale was released on Feb. 19 on $50,000 bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 4, at 3 p.m. It is unknown if he has retained counsel.
