County commissioners approved the annual report from the county’s noxious weed department during Tuesday’s meeting.
In total, the department is carrying over $139,957 from its 2010 budget to its 2011 budget. In 2010, the department spent a total of $224,066, and reported revenues of $364,024, which came from county appropriations, as well as reimbursements for labor and chemicals.
No serious weed-related issues were reported.

• Commissioners approved the appointment of James Leach to the District II planning board.
• Commissioners approved a promotion to Sergeant Correctional officer to Carlos Venegas.
• Commissioners heard a report from Jesse Kaye of Prairie View regarding their mental health services.
• Commissioners discussed a developer’s agreement for Mid-Kansas Cooperative’s Canton location, but no action was taken.
