Jourdan Case’s basket with two seconds left propelled Elyria Christian School’s boys to a pulsating 39-37 victory Thursday over Peabody in make-up basketball action.
Case and Aaron Potter scored 13 points apiece for the Eagles, who turn around and host Chase tonight. Elyria can assure itself of a winning season with a victory, as it’s 10-9.
Peabody girls 32, Elyria Christian 24 -- Cold shooting did in the Eagles, who could never get untracked. Abby Daniel topped Elyria with eight points.
Marion boys 55, Canton-Galva 25 -- The Warriors jumped on the Eagles 13-3 in the first quarter and then put the game out of reach with a 22-5 point-burst in the third quarter. Kaleb Dailey’s six points led C-G.
Marion girls 44, Canton-Galva 37 -- The Warriors broke open a close game in the fourth quarter. Marion had led by just two points after three quarters before outscoring C-G 11-6 over the final eight minutes. Makenzie Farnham’s 14 points topped C-G.
