A Salina man was killed and two were injured in a two-vehicle accident on K-61, Monday evening.
According to a report filed by the Kansas Highway Patrol, a vehicle driven by Jamie W. Freeman, 32, Salina, was southbound on K-61, four miles south of McPherson, and attempted to pass a slower vehicle and struck a northbound vehicle driven by Justin A. Joorabchi, 30, Wichita.
Freeman was transported to Memorial Hospital, McPherson, where he died. Freeman’s passenger, Sapphire A. Richardson, 23, Hutchinson, was transported to Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries. Joorabchi, who suffered possible injuries, was not transported to a medical facility.
Units responding to the scene included a state trooper, sheriff’s deputies, McPherson EMS personnel and Inman firefighters. A LifeTeam helicopter also responded.
