Little River’s baseball team stayed smoking Thursday with an offensive outburst in sweeping Moundridge.
The Redskins scored seven runs in the first and five in the third to key a 14-2 victory in the opener.
Skylar Hill was 4 for 4 with four RBI, while Kody Cox had three hits. Winning pitcher Derek Dean helped his own cause with two hits and two RBI. Cox and Tevin Renken had doubles.
Dean fanned six in five innings. Todd Beyer had two hits for the Wildcats. Cooper Wedel took the loss.
Another quick start propelled the Redskins in the second game, 13-3. Little River scored six in the first and four in the second to put it away.
Collin Johnson drove in five runs to lead the way. He had two hits, as did Dean, Hill, Renken and Chet Cordell. Both of Hill’s hits were doubles, while Renken had a triple.
MHS had five different players with one hit, including doubles by Ethan Blouin, Daniel Ratzlaff and Logan Orpin. Garrett Higgins took the loss.

Kevin Smith had two hits for the Vikings in the opener, including a triple. Keenen Breen had the RBI, while Holden Hendricks had a double. Trevor Whittaker took the loss.
In the nightcap, Smith, Breen, Hendricks, Raymond Dauer and Christian Hansen all had one hit for the Vikes. Smith took the loss.
