HIGHLIGHTS
McPherson police
At 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, an officer took a report about a theft of firearms that occurred sometime between Feb. 18 and Feb. 22. An unknown person or persons took a gun safe from a residence in the 400 block of S. Oak. Value of the guns and safe was placed at $1,500.

At 6:05 p.m. Wednesday, an officer responded to a report of subjects selling door to door without a solicitor’s license in the 700 block of Manor Court. Several young men and women were selling magazines for MTS Circulation in Phoenix.

Officers, EMS personnel and firefighters responded at 8:01 p.m. Tuesday to a two-vehicle injury accident at Northview Road and Grimes. A vehicle driven by 32-year-old Jessica R. Purviance,  McPherson, struck a vehicle driven by 49-year-old Brett T. Nowak, also of McPherson. Officers cited Purviance for disobeying a stop sign, no seat belt and no child passenger safety restraint. Three patients were transported to Memorial Hospital, and one patient refused service.

Sheriff
At 8:53 p.m. Tuesday, deputies investigated an accident in which a vehicle driven by 54-year-old Richard S. Farmer, Galva, struck a deer at mile marker 271 on U.S. Highway 56.

A deputy tagged a vehicle at Highway K-61 and Interstate 135 at 5:38 a.m. Wednesday. The deputy spoke with the owner, who could not get it moved until Friday. The deputy said that would be fine as the vehicle was well off the road.

Fire
At 4:43 a.m. Tuesday, firefighters responded to the 500 block of N. Highway 81 bypass for an anhydrous leak.

Kansas Highway Patrol
A trooper responded at 6:22 p.m. Wednesday to a driving complaint near mile marker 51 on northbound Interstate 135. The driver was cited for sending a text message while driving.

Area
MARQUETTE -- EMS personnel responded to south of Quivira on Fifth for a medical emergency at 11:49 a.m. Wednesday. A patient refused transport.

GALVA -- McPherson EMS personnel, Galva firefighters and a Galva police officer responded at 5:46 p.m. Wednesday to a medical emergency in the 100 block of W. Park. A patient was transported to Memorial Hospital in McPherson.
