Lee Dale Miller of McPherson passed away at his winter home in Surprise, Ariz., on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, in the afternoon.
Lee had battled metastasized colon cancer since December 2008. His family was at his side.
Lee Dale Miller was born on Sept. 18, 1952, in McPherson to parents C. Dale Miller and Vonda Ione (Elliott) Miller.
Lee was born with a sense of humor that few possess and those who knew or met him would never forget.
Lee married Monita Peterson Miller on Dec. 27, 1969. They both graduated from McPherson High School in 1970. Lee was an entrepreneur that loved his family and cattle ranching.
Lee’s survivors include his loving wife, Monita; son, Dwight Dale Miller of Gilbert, Ariz.; daughter, Rachelle Lee (Miller) Bakke and husband Eddy of Surprise, Ariz.; son, Matthew Blake Miller and wife Sharett of Surprise, Ariz.; seven grandchildren Tatum, Aubrey and Sydney Miller, Dalen and Grace Bakke, William Miller Allen and Blake Miller; Lee’s sister, Brenda Lee Woodard and husband Barney of McPherson; sister-in-law, Sherrie McNall and husband Lynn of Oklahoma City, Okla.; brother-in-law, Ron Peterson and wife Iris of McPherson; brother-in-law, Von Peterson of McPherson; brother-in-law Verlyn Peterson of Denver, Colo.; nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends and neighbors.
Graveside services will be held at the McPherson Cemetery, McPherson, on Saturday, May 28, at 11a,m. A reception following the service will be held at the Double E Pheasant Ranch, 2038 15th Ave, McPherson.
