A three-vehicle accident Thursday morning at 14th Avenue and Smoky Valley sent two people to an area hospital.

According to the McPherson County Sheriff’s Office, a 1994 Chevrolet pickup driven by 63-year-old John Ringle of Holyrood was traveling south on 14th when it was struck from behind by a 2010 Jeep driven by 51-year-old Edward Pilewski of Lindsborg. The impact pushed Ringle’s vehicle into the opposite lane, where it struck a northbound semi driven by 52-year-old Raymond Ivey of Blanchard, Okla.

Ringle and a passenger in his vehicle, 77-year-old Raymond Stoltenberg, also of Holyrood, were both transported to Lindsborg Community Hospital. Pilewski, Ivey and 38-year-old Ted Coonfield of Edmond, Okla., a passenger in Ivey’s vehicle, all refused transport.
