Maxine L. McMurray, 92, died May 20, 2011, at her home. She was born Nov. 30, 1918, in Windom, the daughter of Daniel P. and Alma L. Swalander Smyres.  
She was a Hutchinson resident since 1935, formally of Dodge City, Minneola and Canton. She worked for F.W. Woolworth's for several years where she met and married her husband Gerald R. McMurray. After his return from three and a half years overseas in the Army, he went into the accounting business. Maxine was the owner of McMurray Accounting after her husband's death in 1982. She was a member of First Christian's Church since 1935 and a1935 Hutchinson High School graduate. She was a member of the Altrusa Club since 1977, Phi Beta Phi Sorority, and Public Accounting Association of Kansas.
She is survived by daughters Joyce Harris of Hutchinson and Debra Fuller and husband, Glenn. of Ft. Payne, Ala.; grandchildren, Pam Nicholas and husband Craig of Hutchinson, Loren Harris of Burrton, and Lonnie Harris and wife, Becky, of Inman; six great grandchildren; sister Marie Parker of Hutchinson; step-sister Alice Johnson of Hutchinson; and sisters in law, Betty Luman and Gladys Luman of Hutchinson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister Juanita, three step-brothers, and three step-sisters.  
A funeral service will be Wednesday, May 25, at 11 a.m. at Elliott Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be Monday 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with family to receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
