The people of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, McPherson, have designated their church as a collection point for needed supplies for the people of Joplin, Mo., which was struck by a massive tornado May 22. 

A collection fair will be held at the church from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 4. Congregations in the Episcopal Diocese of Western Kansas, as well as everyone in the immediate McPherson area, are encouraged to participate in this effort by bringing needed items to the church in McPherson this Saturday. If necessary, arrangements can be made to drop off donations at another time. Just call Fr. Laird MacGregor at (620) 755-4042.

The list of needed supplies is as follows:

·   Diapers of all sizes

·   Baby items, such as pacifiers

·   Clothing for children up to age 2

·   Batteries of all sizes

·   Flashlights

·   Undergarments for all ages

·   Hand-operated can openers

·   Monetary donations to assist with travel expenses (gas etc.)

The people of St. Anne’s will handle transport of donated items to Joplin and will be working with the Episcopal Diocese of West Missouri and the local parish to ensure that donated items reach those in need.
