McPherson’s Senior American Legion Post 24 baseball team makes its 2011 debut tonight hosting Hutchinson at Light Capital Diamond.

First pitch of the twinbill is scheduled for 6 p.m.

Rory Rierson is back at the helm and is working with a squad of 13.

Marshall Ragland, who is from Marion and played this past year at Hesston College, will start the opener, with McPherson’s Seth Sterling working the nightcap.

McPherson’s Aaron Elsasser will be behind the plate, with an infield including Aaron Marshall (McPherson) at first, Jake Friesen (Inman) at second, Kevin Smith (Smoky Valley) at short and Kolby Moddelmog (Canton-Galva) at third.

The McPherson trio of Jeremy Moore, Steven Gonzalez and Sterling will make up the outfield. McPherson’s Colby Geren also will be playing, but is unavailable tonight.

Rounding out the roster are Zach Likely of McPherson and David Helmer of Marion.
