Audean James Horn, 94, of McPherson, died on Oct. 15, 2011, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.

Audean James Horn, 94, of McPherson, died on Oct. 15, 2011, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
He was born in rural McPherson on Nov. 28, 1916, the son of Samuel Henry and Olive Mae (Meador) Horn.
Audean attended and graduated from the Victory Country School. He then attended and graduated from McPherson High School, McPherson, in 1934.  He attended one year at McPherson College, McPherson.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, McPherson, where he was a member of the Fidelis Sunday School class.
Audean was a farmer and stockman. He was a member of the Victory Country School Board and the McPherson County Farm Bureau Board.
Audean was united in marriage to Minnie E. Koger on March 31, 1940, in McPherson.  
He is survived by children, James W. Horn and his wife Amelia, of Charlotte, N.C., and Leta J. Strouse and her husband Randy of Topeka; sister, Evelyn Virginia Hill of McPherson; special friend, Joan Amann of McPherson; five grandchildren, Amy Santaniello and her husband Joseph “Jack,” Stacey Little and  husband, Chris, Kimberly McConnell and husband, Victor, Michelle DeWeese and husband. Burt, and Mark Strouse and wife, Bryanne; nine great-grandchildren, Claire Little, Conner Little, Marissa Santaniello, Evan Santaniello, Alexis DeWeese, Branton DeWeese, Samuel Strouse, Amon McConnell and Hudson Strouse; sister-in-law, Hazel Koger of McPherson; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and a host of friends.
Audean was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Henry Horn and Olive Mae (Meador) Horn; wife Minnie Horn; and brothers Luther Dale Horn and Galen Lee Horn.
Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Glidden - Ediger Chapel, McPherson, with family present.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, McPherson, with Pastor Les Cantrell officiating. Burial will be at the McPherson Cemetery, McPherson.
