Elma E. Bolin, 93, of Salina and formerly of Canton, died October 18, 2011, at Pinnacle Park Nursing Home, Salina, where she had been a resident for the past five years.


Elma E. Bolin, 93, of Salina and formerly of Canton, died October 18, 2011, at Pinnacle Park Nursing Home, Salina, where she had been a resident for the past five years.
She was born Feb. 1, 1918, in Oklahoma City, the daughter of Denver and Agnes Emerson. She was a retired bookkeeper and had lived in Canton since 1945, moving from Oklahoma City. On Aug. 15, 1941, she married Samuel A. Bolin in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 2000.
Elma was a member of the Canton United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, McPherson and the Canton Senior Center. She was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary, United Methodist Women and Extension Homemakers Unit, all of Canton.
Survivors include her grandson, Mark L. Bolin, Salina; daughter-in-law, Nancy R. (Hurtig) Bolin, McCook, Neb.; brother-in-law, Roy O. Bolin and wife Frances, Gentry, Ark. and sister-in-law, Martha Margaret Hunt, San Bernardino, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her son, Clyde L. Bolin on June 23, 2008, granddaughter-in-law, Julie Bolin on July 22, 2011, and four brothers, Virgil, Voden, Everett and J.D. Emerson.
Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Saturday at Olson’s Mortuary, Canton, with Minister Becky Reed presiding. Interment will be in the Canton Township Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Canton Senior Center or Hospice of Salina, in care of the mortuary.
