Kerry Ray “Pedro” Goodwin, 55, of Vine Creek, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011.

Pedro was born on Aug. 12, 1956, to Lola and Warren Goodwin in Clay Center, the youngest of four children. He was a self employed mechanic.

Pedro was born on Aug. 12, 1956, to Lola and Warren Goodwin in Clay Center, the youngest of four children. He was a self employed mechanic.
Pedro entered the armed services, first in the National Guard and later the Army. He was in the engineer battalion while in the National Guard and an infantry soldier in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged from the Army on April 2, 1981.
Pedro is survived by his wife, Pamela Tounsand, of the home; son, Tech Sgt. Jason Lee Goodwin of Knob Noster, Mo.; sisters, Sharon Goodwin of McPherson and Merri Day of Abilene; stepson, Mike “Buzzie” Aita, of Salina; stepdaughter, Lisa Coburn Rumbaugh, of Salina; step-father, Dean Hammer of Newton; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two nieces; and two nephews.
Pedro was preceded in death by his father, Warren, and brother, Terry, as the result of a plane crash. His mother, Lola, passed away in 2006.
There will be no visitation as the body was cremated. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Eagles Lodge #2934, 207 Eagle Drive, Abilene. Memorials may be made to Jason Goodwin or Pamela Tounsand in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina, KS 67401.
