Two McPherson College student-athletes have been honored this week by the KCAC.
Junior quarterback Jake Snodgrass was the football Offensive Player of the Week following his performance in McPherson’s 28-12 win at Tabor College last Saturday.
Snodgrass recorded his fourth consecutive 200-yard passing game, completing 17-of-28 throws for 228 yards and three touchdowns. Additionally, Snodgrass rushed for a team-high 91 yards on 10 attempts to account for 319 of McPherson’s 404 total yards.
Snodgrass’ three touchdown passes matched his career best, which he previously set and tied against Bethel College and Ottawa University. His scoring passes, all of which went to senior wide receiver Andy Skinner, were of seven yards, 33 yards and 15 yards.
On the season, Snodgrass is completing 53 percent (110 of 208) of his passes for 1,380 yards and 14 touchdowns.
For the second time this season, an individual from the McPherson College women’s soccer team has been honored.
Sophomore goalkeeper Tori Verdieck was named KCAC Defensive Player of the Week for her performance last week.
Verdieck was instrumental in the Bulldogs’ shutout victories against Sterling College (1-0) and Bethany College (3-0).
She ended the week’s contests with 10 saves and zero goals allowed in 180 minutes, including a career-high eight saves last Wednesday against the Warriors.
