Christmas comes but once a year and the Birger Sandzén Memorial Gallery is pleased to present a Christmas concert by the Smoky Valley Men’s Choir under the direction of Leah Ann Anderson Dec. 11 at Bethany Lutheran Church.
The usual setting of the Sandzén Gallery is not possible this year due to the ongoing renovations to the interior of the gallery. However, a longstanding tradition of a Christmas music program will continue due to the help of Bethany Lutheran Church in providing a location. Traditional carols, as well as music in the setting of Lindsborg’s pioneer church beautifully decorated, will make this year’s concert very special, a news release said.
Sweden’s tradition of men’s vocal choirs was the inspiration to form the choir. The Smoky Valley Men’s Choir has grown from a beginning in 1997, when they were formed for Lindsborg’s Hyllningsfest, to performances year-round.
The performance will be followed by a reception in the Church’s Fellowship Hall. Bethany Lutheran Church is at 320 N. Main Street in Lindsborg. There is no charge for admission, but early arrival is advised because seating is limited.
