  • Marcella Teresa Ribordy, 83, of McPherson, went to be with her Lord at 3:05 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012, while in the company of family members at Cedars Courts in McPherson.
    Marcella was born in Bogue, Kan. on April 15, 1929, the daughter of Euclide Emile and Marie (Benoit) Ferland.
    Marcella attended and graduated from the  Damar country school in rural Damar, Kan.
    She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Little River.
    Marcella was a homemaker.
    Marcella Ferland was united in marriage to Edres Francis Ribordy on August 28, 1950, in Damar.  Edres died on October 23, 1986.
    Surviving family members include her children, Ed Ribordy and wife Debra of McPherson, Clyde Ribordy and his wife Anna of Tulsa, Okla., Larry Ribordy of Rock Springs, Wyo., Gary Ribordy and his wife Julie of Rock Springs, Wyo., Denise Randa and her husband Cecil of McPherson; and Roland Ribordy and his wife Jackie of Windom; her siblings, Juliet Schreiner of Hays, Jackie Steckline and her husband Roy of Ogallah, Levi Ferland and his wife Connie of Wichita, Ruth Rempe and her husband Paul of Leoti, Gilbert Ferland and his wife Doris of Hays, Alcid Ferland and his wife Carolyn of Hays, Loretta Zweifel and her husband Keith of Luray and Betty Ferland of Russell; her 14 grandchildren; her 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, other relatvies and a host of friends.
    Marcella was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edres, two brothers, Raymond and Archil Ferland.
    Friends are invited to call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, with a Rosary to follow visitation at 7:15 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in McPherson.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in McPherson at 11 a.m. on Tuesday with Fr. Hien Nguyen officiating.
    Marcella’s final resting place will be in the McPherson Cemetery.
    Memorial contributions may be given to McPherson Relay For Life or St. Joseph's Catholic Church, McPherson, and can be sent in care of the Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home, 222 W. Euclid St., McPherson, KS, 67460.
