Arthur “Art” Wilhelm Schultz, 77, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at McPherson Care Center. 

He was born on February 7, 1935, in Hillsboro, the son of Julius and Mary (Seitz) Schultz. He graduated from Hillsboro High School and attended Tabor College. Art was united in marriage to Judy E. Tipton on January 17, 1960, at the First United Methodist Church in McPherson. Together they owned and operated the Hill Crest Motel and Circle S Mobile Home Park in Hillsboro. They also owned and operated the City Cafe and other properties. Art had many other jobs over the years including at the Woolworth Company, Becker Tire, McPherson College, The Cedars and, most recently, Dillons. Art was a member of the First United Methodist Church, McPherson. Survivors include: His wife, Judy (Tipton) Schultz of McPherson; cousins, Ken and Dixie Ingram; Judy’s aunt and uncle, Marie and Wallace Bacon; and Judy’s cousins, Todd and Barb Bacon. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harvey Schultz. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the McPherson Care Center Employee Fund or a charity of the donor’s choice in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS, 67460.
