  • Karlton William “Karl” Kluss, 72, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
    He was born Sept. 16, 1939, in Hutchinson, the son of Dr. Waldo William and Florence Britten Kluss.
    On June 4, 1966, Karl married Mary A. Perkins in Sterling. She survives.
    A 1957 graduate of Hutchinson High School, he attended Sterling College, and Kansas State University. He served as a Cub Scout Master for Pack #330, was a past member of the Free Masons, as well as the Midian Shriners, and was an avid University of Kansas fan, especially KU basketball. A retired farmer, Karl was a bus driver for USD #309.
    He is survived by his children, Genell Price, Moundridge, Cris Kluss and Anthony Kluss, both of Hutchinson, brother, Jerry B. Kluss and wife Patty, Wichita, and two grandchildren, Bethany and Skyler.
    Friends may sign the register book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home, Hutchinson. A memorial graveside will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Cremation has taken place.
