  • Area volleyball teams were busy Tuesday

  • All area volleyball teams were in action Tuesday night.
    MOUNDRIDGE SPLITS — Moundridge won and lost in straight sets at Remington.
    Against Marion, the Wildcats were a 25-13, 25-21 winner, but lost an 18-25, 23-25 decision to Remington.
    Brooke Holloway and MacKenzie Suderman had 17 and 14 kills, respectively. Suderman also had 20 assists, while Michelle Schrag led in digs with 13.
    MHS is now 16-8.
    SMOKY VALLEY GOES 1-1 — At Hillsboro, the Vikings stopped Sterling (25-17, 25-22), but lost in three sets to Hillsboro (25-23, 17-25, 15-25).
    “We played much better tonight collectively,” Smoky Valley coach Doug Schneider said. “I thought we got off to a nice start against Sterling and really did a nice job of working together and playing together.”
    Schneider added the team played well in the first set against Hillsboro, but made some mental errors in the final two sets.
    “I was pleased how hard our kids played tonight, but we still have some fundamental work to do, but we made some good strides,” Schneider said.
    LITTLE RIVER SPLITS AT HOME — Little River started out the night on its home court with a sweep of White City (25-21, 25-17).
    After Centre knocked off White City in two, the Redskins took Centre to three before losing (26-24, 12-25, 20-25).
    CANTON-GALVA 0-2 AT BEREAN — Canton-Galva fell in straight sets in two matches hosted by Berean.
    The host Warriors defeated the Eagles 25-17, 25-12, then Sedgwick was a 25-15, 25-15 winner against C-G.
    ELYRIA SPLITS — At home, Elyria Christian School was a 25-23, 25-21 winner over Solomon.
    In its other match, the Eagles lost in straight sets to Peabody (22-25, 11-25).
    INMAN GOES 0-3 — The Teutons were 0-3 in a home quad.
    The Teutons lost to Bennington in three sets (25-23, 15-25, 19-25). They then lost to Ell-Saline (23-25, 15-25) and Trinity (14-25, 20-25) in straight sets.
    Inman coach Jason Lindstrom said the Teutons’ inconsistency and service errors were the downfall of the night.
