As expected, McPherson High remained in Class 4A when the Kansas State High School Activities Association announced its classifications Thursday.
That means MHS will continue to compete in 4A in all sports.
MHS' count is 690, which puts it behind Highland Park (729), Pittsburg (710), Bonner Springs (708) and Winfield (691).
Moundridge, which was the smallest 3A school last year, dropped back to Class 2A. It has 150 students, with Prairie Village the largest school at 158.
Smoky Valley (4A), Inman (2A), Canton-Galva (2A), Little River (2A) and Elyria Christian School (1A) all remained the same.
Wichita East (2,276) is the biggest school in the state, while Tipton (15) is the smallest.
MHS remains 4A; Moundridge now 2A
