McPherson College’s men’s soccer team overwhelmed Manhattan Christian 7-1 here Wednesday night to improve to 5-1-1 on the year.
Mac coach Doug Quint was able to give a lot of players extended time, with four starters scoring goals and three by reserves.
Christian Rodriguez scored a pair of goals to lead the onslaught. Others were scored by Sebastian Toro, Eddie Garcia, Sam Tucker, Michael Phillips and Chase Menzie. Toro, Johnny Nuthall and Brooks Walsh had assists.
Taylor Parrott was in goal in the first half, with Fernando Gonzalez playing the second half.
Mac is home Sunday to play Westminister University of Utah. Game time is 2 p.m.
MAC WOMEN 4, MANHATTAN CHRISTIAN 0 — The Bulldogs fired off 48 shots in their biggest offensive output of the year.
Mac, now 2-4-2, received two goals apiece from Stephanie Cornell and Gabriela Navarro.
Molly Whitwell played the first half in goal for Mac, with MaKenzie Smith completing the shutout.
Mac is off until Oct. 3 when it hosts 15th-ranked Kansas Wesleyan at 5 p.m. Saturday.
